This notice explains what IELTS IQ does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be skipped. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
IELTS IQ is run by IELTS-IQ, based in Lebanon. We decide how your information is used, which in data protection law makes us the controller.
Contact: abdelrazzakkalash@gmail.com
Your account: your email address, and your password in a form we cannot read.
Your writing: every answer you type into the site: sentences, paragraphs, essays, and your written answers to speaking questions.
The corrections you receive: the AI’s feedback on your writing, including the level it gave, the errors it found, the rewritten versions it produced, and the words it added to your vocabulary list.
How much you use the AI: the number of AI marks you have used and the computing cost of each one. We use this to run the service and to know what to charge.
We do not collect your audio, your video, your location, or anything from other websites. We do not use advertising trackers.
To give you the service you paid for. Your writing has to be read by our AI marker for it to be corrected, and your corrections have to be stored for your mistakes book, your vocabulary reviews and your grammar gym to exist at all.
In legal terms, our basis is performance of a contract: you signed up for marked practice, and this is what marked practice requires.
Anthropic: we use Anthropic’s Claude models to mark your writing. Your answer and the task you were answering are sent to Anthropic’s API, which returns the correction. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models without express permission, and we have not given that permission. Anthropic is based in the United States, so your writing is processed there.
Supabase: stores your account and your corrections. Region: Seoul, South Korea (ap-northeast-2).
Netlify: hosts the website.
Resend: sends account emails. It sees your email address, not your writing.
Your teacher: the tutor who runs IELTS IQ can read your writing and your corrections. That is the point of a course with a teacher in it.
We do not sell your information to anyone, and we never will.
Your writing and corrections are kept for as long as your account exists, plus 12 months. The 12 months exist so that a student who comes back after an exam still has their history.
If you delete your account, we delete your writing and your corrections permanently. Not hidden, not archived: deleted.
To use any of these, email abdelrazzakkalash@gmail.com. We will answer within 30 days.
IELTS IQ is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18 and have an account, or you are a parent who believes your child has one, email us and we will delete it.
Corrections, levels and band estimates on this site are produced by a machine reading a short piece of writing. They are estimates, not exam results, and they are sometimes wrong. No decision about you is made automatically by the AI alone; your teacher decides. If you disagree with a correction, tell your teacher.
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top and tell you by email before the change takes effect.
